#15 Bulldogs fall at #7 Florida Southern

Lakeland, Fla.----The 15th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-1 lead at #7 Florida Southern Saturday morning, but the Mocs had the answer, prevailing 18-7 in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse action. The Mocs move to 4-1 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 4-2 on the season.

- FSC out-shot Wingate 38-19, with a 30-12 advantage in shots on goal
- The Bulldogs turned it over 19 times, while the Mocs had 17 turnovers
- Florida Southern won 18 of the 27 draw controls

FIRST QUARTER

- Watson got Wingate on the board 1:45 in
- Knowles score off a Scarfogliero assist at the 10:33 mark to make it 2-0
- Wilgeroth's goal a minute later put the 'Dogs on top 3-1
- FSC scored the next five, taking a 6-3 advantage on three straight Madison Tare goals
- Knowles scored with a minute left in the frame to cut the lead to two
- Hannah Hale answered with a goal in the final seconds to make it 7-4

SECOND QUARTER

- Scarfogliero scored off a Fuchs assist two minutes in to pull the 'Dogs back within two
- FSC scored the final five goals of the half, taking a 12-5 lead on Audrey Cannelli's goal at the 1:30 mark

THIRD QUARTER

- The Mocs continued their run by scoring all four goals in the third frame
- Tare's goal with 2:50 left in the quarter made it 16-5

FOURTH QUARTER

- Elise Alders gave the Mocs a 12-goal lead in the opening minute of the fourth
- Fuchs scored at the 10:12 mark to make it 17-6
- Watson scored the final goal of the day in the final minute off a Higgins assist
