Emory, Va.----The Wingate University Bulldogs got 37 combined points from
Emily Hege and
Hannah Clark Saturday afternoon en route to an 82-72 victory at Emory & Henry in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action. Wingate improves to 14-7 overall and 9-4 in the SAC, while the Wasps fall to 9-12 overall and 4-9 in league play.
KEY STATS
- Wingate shot 45 percent from the field, going eight-for-21 from three-point range (38 percent)
- E&H shot 40 percent from the field, connecting on 13-of-32 from deep (41 percent)
- The Wasps held a 41-34 rebounding advantage; the 'Dogs had a 9-5 edge in second-chance points
- The 'Dogs scored 23 points off 18 E&H turnovers
- Wingate had 18 assists and just eight turnovers on the day

FIRST QUARTER
- A Hannah Spainhour three-point play gave the Wasps an early 8-2 lead

- Grace Glance buried a triple to give E&H a 13-9 lead at the midway point

- Spainhour's triple at the 3:13 mark cut the lead back to seven
