#12 Bulldogs sweep past Tusculum to push winning streak to seven

Wingate, N.C.----The 12th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs outscored visiting Tusculum University 14-2 Saturday afternoon, rolling to a doubleheader sweep in South Atlantic Conference softball action. Wingate won the opener 6-2, while prevailing 8-0 in five innings in game two to improve to 27-6 overall and 7-1 in the SAC, moving to 10-0 at home this season. The Pioneers fall to 13-14 overall and 3-3 in league play. The 'Dogs have won seven straight, moving to 10-0 at home this season.

- An RBI single from McLaurin pushed the lead back to three
- Kale drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 6-2

WRAPUP

- Cutcher got the win, moving to 8-1 on the year
- She allowed two runs on five hits in seven innings, striking out 12 and walking one
- Emily Sappington took the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings
