#16 Bulldogs move to 8-0 in league play with 17-4 victory over Railsplitters

Wingate, N.C.----The 16th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs stayed perfect in league play Saturday afternoon, celebrating Senior Day with an emphatic 17-4 victory over Lincoln Memorial University in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action at Irwin Belk Stadium. The Bulldogs improve to 10-3 overall and 8-0 in the SAC, while the Railsplitters fall 5-8 overall and 4-3 in league play. The 'Dogs have now won 25 consecutive SAC contests.

FIRST QUARTER

- Caldwell struck first, scoring off a Fuchs assist four minutes in
- Josie Tinnerello scored 48 seconds later to tie it at one
- Watson answered with a goal 45 seconds later to put the 'Dogs back on top
- Scherer struck twice in a 15-second span, getting a Watson assist on one of the goals that made it 4-1
- Jaedyn Ryba scored in the final minute to cut the lead to two

SECOND QUARTER

- Caldwell scored off a Fuchs assist two minutes into the second frame
- Blakely and Clouser scored in a 50-second span, with Wilgeroth notching an assist to make it 7-2
- Tinnerello and Amber Kirkpatrick scored to make it a three-goal game with 4:50 left in the half
- The Railsplitters would not score again the rest of the day
- Knowles scored off a Fuchs assist with three minutes to go to push the lead back to four
- Soler's goal off a Blakely assist gave the 'Dogs a 9-4 halftime advantage

THIRD QUARTER

- Knowles scored off Watson's assist just over two minutes in to put Wingate in double figures
- Wilgeroth scored twice in a 55-second span to make it 12-4 with 9:21 to go
- Watson scored off a Wilgeroth assist at the midway point to put the 'Dogs on top by nine

FOURTH QUARTER

- Knowles struck in the opening minute to give Wingate a 10-goal lead
- Fuchs scored with 10 minutes remaining, making it 15-4
- Solero scored off a Wilgeroth assist to extend the lead to 12
- Garvin capped the scoring with 1:17 remaining off a Blakely assist to make it 17-4
