Wingate, N.C.----The 16th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs picked up a big region victory Wednesday afternoon, taking down #25 Mount Olive 13-12 in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse action. The Bulldogs win their fifth straight, improving to 11-3 overall, while the Trojans fall to 9-3 on the year.

FIRST QUARTER
- Watson started the scoring off a Garvin assist three minutes in
- Scherer scored at the 8:38 mark to make it 2-0
- Watson's goal two minutes later put the 'Dogs on top by three
- Mount Olive scored the final three of the frame, tying it at three on a Logan Hibbard goal in the last minute
SECOND QUARTER
- Knowles scored off a Fuchs assist two minutes in to give the Bulldogs a 4-3 lead
- Teagan Dunnett tied it at four with a goal 34 seconds later
- Wilgeroth answered with a goal 45 seconds later to put Wingate back on top
- Goals from Dunnett and Kayanna Bowden gave UMO a 6-5 lead at the 8:32 mark
- The 'Dogs responded by scoring the final three goals of the half
- Knowles scored off a Fuchs assist to start the flurry, tying it at six
- Wilgeroth scored off a Knowles assist 39 seconds later to give Wingate a one-goal lead
- Knowles struck again with 2:05 to go, giving the Bulldogs an 8-6 halftime lead
THIRD QUARTER
- Blakely scored Wingate's fourth straight goal off a Fuchs assist 54 seconds in to make it 9-6
- Hibbard answered with a goal at the 12:50 mark to cut the lead to two
- Fuchs scored off a Clouser assist with three minutes remaining, making it 10-7
- Watson's with 49 seconds left put the 'Dogs on top by four
- Alexa Fitzgerald scored with seven seconds left, making it 11-8 heading to the fourth
FOURTH QUARTER
- Lena DeFilippo and Caroline Clark scored in the first three minutes to pull UMO within one
- Watson scored at the 9:24 mark, putting the 'Dogs on top 12-10
- Bria Hamilton scored with 3:12 remaining to pull the Trojans back within a goal
- Scherer answered with a big goal at the 1:46 mark, making it 13-11
- Hibbard scored with 1:17 to go to pull Mount Olive back within one
- Knowles won the ensuing draw control and the 'Dogs were able to run out the clock
