Brett Adams blasted a pair of homers and drove in six runs Friday afternoon, leading the Bulldogs to a 16-8 victory over Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. Wingate improves to 26-17 overall and 17-8 in the SAC, while the Eagles fall to 22-19 overall and 15-10 in league play.

FIRST INNING
- Adams started the scoring with a two-run bomb to center to give WU an early 2-0 lead
SECOND INNING
- Travis led off the frame with a solo shot to right to cut the lead in half
- Rhodes crushed a solo homer to left in the bottom of the frame to push the lead back to two
THIRD INNING
- The Eagles scored five runs in the sixth to take the lead
- Travis had the big blow, a three-run homer to give C-N a 6-3 advantage
- Barnett was hit by a pitch with one out in the bottom of the frame
- He moved to third on an Adams double
- Ishmael ripped a two-run double to right center to pull the 'Dogs to within a run
FOURTH INNING
- An RBI single from Williams gave Carson-Newman a 7-5 advantage
- Wingate scored three times in the bottom of the frame to regain the lead
- Singles from Courville and Williams-Rhem started the inning
- Barnett's RBI single made it a one-run game
- Adams split the gap in left center for a two-run double to put the 'Dogs on top 8-7
FIFTH INNING
- The Bulldogs scored five times in the fifth to extend the lead
- Dansky was hit by a pitch to start the frame, then moved to third on a Rhodes single
- Courville's RBI single plated Dansky to make it 9-7
- Williams-Rhem followed with an RBI single to put the 'Dogs in double figures
- Barnett launched a three-run homer to right to give Wingate a 13-7 lead
SIXTH INNING
- Dansky started things with a one-out single
- He scored on an RBI double from Rhodes to put the Bulldogs on top by seven
SEVENTH INNING
- Barnett lined a one-out single to right center
