Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs got a pair of goals from
Manu Baptista Filipe Thursday evening, along with a goal and an assist from
Hinako Aoki to prevail 3-1 in NCAA Division II women's soccer action at Pride Park. The victory gives Katie Mitchell her first win as the Wingate head coach, as the 'Dogs start the year 1-0 and Barton falls to 0-1.

FIRST HALF
- Aoki got the Bulldogs on the board in the 37th minute
- Ensalaco found her at the top of the box off a corner kick
- Aoki buried it from the top of the box to make it 1-0
- Barton had the answer in the 43rd minute
- A foul in the box led to a penalty kick
- Gianna Ferigne buried the PK to make it 1-1 at halftime
SECOND HALF
- Wingate regained the lead less than five minutes into the second half
- Baptista-Filipe ripped one from the middle of the box off a Halldorsdottir assist to make it 2-1
- Barton nearly had the equalizer in the 78th minute, but the Cambria Oldham shot hit the crossbar
- Faucette came up with two huge saves in the 83rd and 86th minute to keep the 'Dogs on top
- Baptista-Filipe added an insurance goal in the 90th minute
- She took a feed from Aoki and chipped it over the keeper to make the final margin 3-0
