CHAMPS! No. 2 Wingate, Bochaton win third 2025-26 team title at St. Simons

St. Simons Island, Ga.----The No. 2 Wingate University women's golf team won its third 2025-26 tournament in as many tries, taking the title at the St. Simons Intercollegiate Tuesday. The Bulldogs shot a six-under-par 282 to complete 54 holes at seven-under-par 857. Wingate finished 33 strokes ahead of second-place West Florida at 890. Lincoln Memorial hosted this event at The King and The Prince Beach & Golf Club.
 
Bochaton wins eighth career title; Four Bulldogs make all-tournament
 
Wingate sophomore All-American Amely Bochaton won her eighth career individual title with a seven-under-par 209, outdistancing Lenoir-Rhyne junior Eve Neild by five shots. Bochaton shot a five-under-par 67 Tuesday, equaling the event's best round. She had seven birdies in the third round.
 
Sophomore Olivia Meinecke, junior Jacqueline Gonzalez Howard and senior Thalia Perez-Vieco joined Bochaton on the all-tournament team. Meinecke had a two-under-par 70 Tuesday to finish third with her 54-hole total of even-par 216.
 
Gonzalez Howard and Perez-Vieco tied for fourth place at two-over-par 218. Gonzalez Howard had an even-par 72 Tuesday, while Perez-Vieco had a one-over-par 73. Sophomore Haley Paramore and senior Lauren Sutcliffe finished 14th and 18th, respectively.
 
Paramore had her second consecutive round of 75 to finish three rounds at seven-over-par 223. Sutcliffe posted a 74 for the second straight day to complete 54 holes at eight-over-par 224. Sutcliffe played the St. Simons Intercollegiate as an individual this week.

Wingate returns to Georgia Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14 for the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega. The University of North Georgia hosts this annual event at the Achasta Golf Club.
