Founders Federal Credit Union accelerates commitment to Wingate University Sports Performance Center

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University Athletics is proud to announce that corporate partner Founders Federal Credit Union has accelerated its financial commitment to the University's Sports Performance Center (SPC) project. This accelerated payment will play a key role in advancing the project timeline, with the University now targeting a summer 2026 construction start.

The Sports Performance Center, a $5 million facility, will serve as the weight and training home for more than 950 Wingate student-athletes across 30 teams. In addition to providing state-of-the-art strength and conditioning spaces, the SPC will also host the University's D.O.G. Days (Development, Opportunity, Growth) leadership development program—an initiative focused on preparing student-athletes to be leaders in their careers and communities after college.

"We are deeply grateful to Founders Federal Credit Union for their continued partnership and belief in our mission," said Joe Reich, Director of Athletics at Wingate University. "Their decision to accelerate this investment will significantly impact our ability to move this project forward and enhance the experience of every Wingate student-athlete.

Founders Federal Credit Union has been a steadfast supporter of Wingate University and its athletic programs, helping to advance opportunities for student-athletes both on and off the field.

Fundraising for the Sports Performance Center continues, and naming opportunities remain available for individuals, families, and organizations interested in supporting the project.
