Quincy Gibbs has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday morning. Gibbs earns SAC Player of the Week accolades for the first time in his career.
Gibbs led the Bulldogs to a shutout in the regular season finale, as the Bulldogs blanked Coker 1-0 to wrap up the year. The victory moved the 'Dogs up to a tie for fifth in the regular season SAC standings. Gibbs notched a pair of saves on the day to preserve the Wingate victory.
Gibbs ranks fourth in the SAC with his .764 save percentage, while ranking seventh in goals-against average at 1.28. He piled up 42 saves on the year, while notching three shutouts.
