Defending national champion Wingate competes for ’25 title in Arizona Saturday

Tempe, Ariz.----The four-time defending East Region champion Wingate University women's triathlon team competes in the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships Saturday at Tempe Town Lake. Wingate is the defending NCAA Division II national champion.

Run - 5 kilometers

The Course
 
The route starts on North Shore Beach and features a 750 km swim in Tempe Town Lake, followed by a 20 km bike ride around the surrounding streets of Mill Ave. and Curry Rd. Finally, the course wraps up with a 5 km run before crossing the finish line.

Looking back at the 2025 East Regionals
Saturday, Oct. 25 – Lake Norman State Park, Troutman, N.C.
 
The No. 1 Wingate University women's triathlon team won its fourth consecutive USA Triathlon Collegiate East Regional qualifier at Lake Norman State Park Saturday. The Bulldogs were led by East Region Freshman of the Year Shelby Lajeunesse, who finished second overall.
 
Four Bulldog student-athletes named to CTCA All-East Region team
 
Four Wingate University women's triathlon student-athletes have been named to the All-East Region team by the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA). Bulldog newcomer Shelby Lajeunesse leads the way, as she was named East Region Freshman of the Year.
 
Lajeunesse finished second in Saturday's East Regional with a time of 1:05:06. She was joined on the All-East Region team by sophomore Rebecca Nolan, freshman Vanda Křížková and sophomore Irmak Sereflioğlu, who finished third, fifth and sixth, respectively. The top four Wingate student-triathletes finished within 39 seconds of each other.
