Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs led by as many as 16 points Wednesday night, holding off the #13 Coker University Cobras 64-63 in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate improves to 18-9 overall and 17-6 in the SAC, while the Cobras fall to 24-4 overall and 20-3 in league play.

SECOND QUARTER

- A Beale three-point play and Oliver layup gave the 'Dogs a 26-18 lead in the opening minute
- Wingate added an 8-1 run, getting buckets from Anderson, Beale and Bacon to take a 12-point lead
- Knight's layup with 1:41 remaining cut the lead to nine at 34-25
- Three Chavis free throws in the final minute gave Wingate a 37-25 halftime lead

THIRD QUARTER

- Two Mariah Mitchem free throws at the 7:39 mark cut the lead to eight
- A Beale jumper and three Oliver free throws put the 'Dogs on top 44-31 with six minutes left
- Oliver's jumper at the 3:13 mark gave WU its largest lead at 50-34
- Four Shawntenna free throws cut the lead to 10 with 46 seconds left
- Anderson's layup at the buzzer gave Wingate a 54-42 lead heading to the fourth

FOURTH QUARTER

- A Janay Legagneur layup at the 4:44 mark made it a seven-point game
- Anderson answered with two free throws to give Wingate a 60-51 lead
