Bulldogs fall in 10 and 11 innings at Barry

Miami Shores, Fla.----The Barry University Bucs picked up a pair of extra-innings victories over Wingate University Sunday afternoon in NCAA Division II softball action, starting with a 2-1 10-inning victory in game one. The Bucs won 9-8 in 11 innings in game two, improving to 6-3 overall. The Bulldogs fall to 2-6 on the season.

GAME ONE | Barry 2 WINGATE 1 (10 Innings)

- Brooks drew a bases-loaded walk to put the 'Dogs on top

- A sacrifice fly from Becka Mellor in the bottom of the frame cut the lead to two

THIRD INNING

- Stevens started the frame with a walk, while Kramer reached on an error
- A Burns sacrifice fly plated Stevens to tie it at seven

ELEVENTH INNING

- Burns was placed on second to start the inning
- She moved to third on a sacrifice from Stevens, then scored on a Kramer sacrifice fly to give WU an 8-7 lead
- Tucker was placed on second in the bottom of the frame
- She moved to third on a sacrifice, followed by an infield single from Langlie
- Rushton came to the plate with runners on second and third with two outs
- Her two-run single gave the Bucs a 9-8 victory

WRAPUP

- Alexis Martin got the win, allowing seven runs on nine hits in six innings
- Jillian Thomas took the loss, allowing three earned runs on seven hits in 8 1/3 innings, striking out six
