Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs opened up a three-game conference series with a 5-4 victory over Lincoln Memorial University in South Atlantic Conference baseball action Friday afternoon at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. Wingate improves to 13-14 overall and 9-7 in the SAC, while the Railsplitters fall to 16-12 overall and 6-7 in league play.

- A two-run single from Evans tied it at three
- Evans then scored on a double steal when Groppuso stole second to give WU a 4-3 lead
- Dixon's RBI single put the 'Dogs on top 5-3

- An RBI single from Trace Simmons cut the lead to one

- Hoover got the win, allowing three runs on four hits in five innings, striking out five
