Greenwood, S.C.----The No. 2 Wingate University women's golf team will take a 10-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round following the first 36 holes of the Lady Bearcat Classic at Greenwood Country Club. The Bulldogs fired rounds of seven-over-par 295 and four-under-par 284 for a three-over-par 579 and a 10-stroke lead over host Lander.

Amely Bochaton holds a two-shot lead over Limestone junior
Pennie Osterberg after the Wingate freshman shot rounds of one-under-par 71 and four-under-par 68. Bochaton looks for back-to-back individual victories after winning last time out at the team's home tournament, the Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate.
Wingate Round 1 quick hits

- Bulldogs pulled away from the field with a four-under-par 284 in round two

- Bochaton had five birdies and only one blemish for her 68
- Meinecke fired a three-under-par 69(-3) with three birdies and an eagle
- Her eagle came on the par-four 13th hole, as she holed out from the fairway with her second shot
- Meinecke sits in fourth place after day one, only three shots back of second place
