Raleigh, N.C.----The Wingate University outdoor track and field distance squad took center stage after two days of the Raleigh Relays inside the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility at North Carolina State University. Forty-seven Bulldog student-athletes are competing in this year's event.
Titouan Le Grix finished second in the men's 5000 meters with his time of 13:28.23 Thursday.
Soheil Boufrizi finished fifth in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with his time of 8:38.78 Thursday.
Luca Poppe finished 23rd in the men's 1500 meters with his time of 3:41.97 Thursday.
Le Grix, Boufrizi and Poppe have the No. 1 marks in the NCAA Division II through Friday, March 28. In addition, Le Grix and Poppe set new WU school standards with their Thursday performances. Le Grix was second out of 213 competitors, while Poppe was 23rd out of 202 athletes.
