Wingate, N.C.----The 10th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs held visiting Lander University to a season-low five goals Saturday afternoon, prevailing 12-5 in NCAA Division II men's lacrosse action at Irwin Belk Stadium and Founders Field. Wingate improves to 8-2 overall, while the Bearcats fall to 5-6 on the season.

FIRST PERIOD
- Butrico and Clark started the scoring, giving WU a 2-0 lead midway through the frame
- Zane Dalpe cut the lead to one at the 6:30 mark
- Goss scored a minute later off a Moran assist to make it 3-1
- Butrico's goal off a Spence assist gave the 'Dogs a three-goal advantage
- Levi Roest scored with a minute left, making it 4-2
SECOND PERIOD
- Clark scored off a Spence assist with 10:39 left in the second period
- Butrico scored off another Spence assist at the 3:52 mark to make it 6-2
THIRD PERIOD
- Chase Hanson scored in the opening minute to cut the lead to three
- Moran answered off a Grant assist to make it 7-3
- Rupprecht won the ensuing faceoff, then found Butrico for a goal just 10 seconds later
- Clark scored off a Spence assist with 11:23 to go to stretch the lead to six
- Clark and Spence struck again 39 seconds later to put the 'Dogs on top 10-3
- Dalpe scored the final two goals of the frame to make it 10-5
FOURTH PERIOD
- Moran scored two minutes into the final frame to push the lead back to six
- Spence capped the scoring with a goal at the 5:42 mark
