Hickory, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs got three homers and seven RBI from
Hali Scott Saturday afternoon, splitting a doubleheader at Lenoir-Rhyne University in a key South Atlantic Conference softball doubleheader. Wingate won the opener 8-6, while the Bears prevailed 10-6 in game two. The 'Dogs move to 24-16 overall and 13-3 in the SAC, while LR goes to 23-13 overall and 10-4 in league play.

- Scott followed with another solo homer to make it 6-4
- A walk and Burns single put runners on the corners
- McLaurin's RBI single put the 'Dogs on top 7-4
SEVENTH INNING
- Brooks gave the Bulldogs a four-run cushion with a solo homer to start the frame
- A two-run homer from Alexandria Gray in the bottom of the inning cut the lead to two
- Scott struck out the final two batters of the game to preserve the WU victory
WRAPUP
- Thomas got the win, allowing four runs on four hits in five innings, striking out three
- Scott got the save, allowing two runs on one hit in two innings, striking out three
- Faith Carrigan took the loss, allowing two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning
