Laney Beale have earned third team All-SAC honors, league officials announced Monday morning.
Kyleigh Bacon has earned a spot on the All-SAC Freshman Team.
Beale ranks third on the team with 10 points per game, shooting 50 percent from the field and 76 percent from the free throw line while leading the team with 45 steals, ranking second with 95 assists while also ranking second with 6.2 rebounds per game.
Beale has scored in double figures 14 times on the season, notching three double-doubles. She had 10 points, eight assists and seven boards in the Tusculum win, while piling up 20 points, 14 rebounds and three assists in the Limestone victory. Beale had 10 points and 12 rebounds in the LMU win, while registering 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals against Catawba. She had 17 points on seven-of-10 shooting in the LR win, adding 10 boards, three assists and three steals. Beale had 13 points, seven boards and five assists in the Emory & Henry victory, while posting 15 points, four boards and three assists in the win at Limestone.
Oliver picks up all-conference accolades in her lone season with the Bulldogs, ranking second on the team with 10.1 points per game while handing out a team-best 98 assists. Oliver ranks third in the SAC, shooting 85 percent from the free throw line, while ranking second on the team with her 39 steals, adding 75 rebounds on the season.
Oliver has scored in double figures 15 times this season, going for 14 points, seven assists and three steals at Francis Marion on opening weekend. She piled up 13 points and 11 assists in the Anderson win, while going for 13 points on five-of-eight shooting in the Newberry victory. Oliver had 12 points and six boards in the LMU win, followed by a 10-point, eight-rebound, four-steal effort in the UVA Wise victory. She had 13 points, five assists and four rebounds in the Catawba win, while registering 13 points, five assists, four steals and three boards at Catawba. Oliver scored 15 points in the win at Limestone, while piling up 21 points and nine assists in the win at UVA Wise. She had 17 points and four steals in the win over #13 Coker, while collecting 13 points, five assists and four boards against Mars Hill.
Bacon has appeared in all 28 games in her first season at Wingate, making 25 starts for the Bulldogs. She is averaging 9.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, shooting 47 percent from the field while adding 46 assists and 34 steals. She has scored in double figures 14 times, going for 16 points and six rebounds in the Newberry win while going 10-for-10 at the free throw line. Bacon had 17 points, seven boards and four assists in the Limestone win on six-of-10 shooting from the field. She had 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Emory & Henry victory. Bacon had 14 points and four boards in the Catawba win, while going for 12 points and seven rebounds at Mars Hill. She piled up 15 points and eight rebounds in the Limestone win, while notching a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the victory at UVA Wise.
Wingate is back in action Wednesday, taking on Catawba at 5 p.m. in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals in Rock Hill, S.C. The semifinals are Thursday in Rock Hill, with the championship game scheduled for Friday night at 7 p.m. Every game of the SAC Tournament takes place at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center.
