Nominees announced for 13th annual WUSPYS

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Athletic Department has announced the nominees for the 13th annual WUSPYS. The 2025 WUSPYS will take place Wednesday, May 7 at Austin Auditorium. The Blue Carpet show will begin at 5 p.m. in Cuddy Arena, with light snacks available. The team awards will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Austin Auditorium, with the WUSPYS getting underway at 7 p.m. Below are all of the nominees for each of the categories along with their accomplishments. 

A ballot has been sent out to over 100 voters, consisting of members of Wingate's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Wingate coaches and Wingate administration, along with members of the Sports Medicine Team and the Sports Performance Team. Voting will run through the week. All the winners will be announced during Wednesday's show. The full 2024 WUSPYS will air the day after the WUSPYS. MALE BREAKTHROUGH ATHLETE

Rodrigo De La Torre (Tennis)
- After missing his 1st season at WU due to injury, De La Torre has appeared in all matches for #10 WU
- Is a perfect 15-0 on the season in singles play, going 9-0 against SAC opponents
- Is 9-0 at #4 singles and 6-0 at #6 singles, adding a 6-2 record at #3 doubles this season

Chad Harvey (Baseball)
- After posting a 4.26 ERA, a win and 2 saves last year, Harvey has a 2.19 ERA this season
- Has gone 3-1 while notching 6 saves on the year, piling up 46 strikeouts in 37 innings
- Opponents are hitting just .152 against Harvey this year, who ranks 3rd in the SAC in saves

Jordan Miller (Basketball)
- After scoring 1.9 points per game last season, Miller was 2nd on the team with his 10.7 ppg this year
- Handed out 116 assists on the season while also pulling down 5.1 rebounds per game
- Ranked 2nd in the SAC in steals, scoring in double figures 11 times including five 20-point efforts

Luca Poppe (Cross Country/Track & Field)
- After not qualifying for 2024 indoor nationals, Poppe qualified and placed for Wingate in 2025
- Earned All-American honors at Indoors in the DMR (3rd place) and the 3,000 Meters (3rd place)
- Finished 3rd at Cross Country Regionals, helping lead Wingate to a dominant title

Kai Russell (Football)
- After totaling 31 tackles through the first 3 years, Russell had 60 tackles, 14 tackles for loss & 7.5 sacks in '24
- Had 9 QB hurries & 3 forced fumbles for a defense that was top 4 nationally in total & scoring defense
- Combined for 19 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and 2 sacks in SAC title game & NCAA play-off game

Alex Smyre (Swimming)
- Smyre had never placed in the top 12 at NCAA championships entering this season
- This year, he finished 7th in the 200 Fly to earn 1st Team All-American honors
- Also earned 2nd Team All-American honors in the 200 Free Relay, helping WU finish 10th   

Quad Williams (Lacrosse)
- Registered 40 saves in 230 minutes of action through his first two seasons at Wingate
- Has piled up 146 saves this year, starting all 16 games for the #10 Bulldogs
- Leads the SAC in save percentage, helping WU rank second in the conference in goals-against average

FEMALE BREAKTHROUGH ATHLETE

Riley Boone (WLAX)
- After collecting 37 saves through her first 3 seasons, Boone has piled up 110 saves this year
- 2nd Team All-SAC honoree leads the SAC and ranks 3rd in the nation in goals-against average
- Boone ranks 3rd in the SAC in save percentage, helping #15 Wingate win a 3rd straight SAC title

Evie Brooks (Cross Country/Track & Field)
- After not qualifying for nationals in 2024, Brooks was an All-American at 2025 Indoors
- She earned second team All-American honors, helping the WU DMR team to a 9th-place finish
- Brooks was also Wingate's #4 finisher at cross country nationals, helping WU finish in 8th place

Maddie Hoffman (Volleyball)
- After collecting 200 digs through her first 2 seasons, Hoffman piled up 607 digs in 2024
- The All-SAC and All-Region libero earned AVCA honorable mention All-Americans
- Led a defense that ranked 7th nationally in opponents hitting percentage, winning SAC & Region titles

Jillian Thomas (Softball)
- After posting an ERA over 8 in 6 innings in 2024, Thomas earned 1st Team All-SAC honors in 2025
- She is 15-7 with a 2.60 ERA, 2 saves, notching 7 complete games, striking out 107 in 124 innings
- Ranks 3rd in the SAC in ERA, 4th in wins and 6th in shutouts for the SAC champion Bulldogs

NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR (Non-Freshman)

Vinny Butrico (Men's Lacrosse)
- Has piled up 44 goals and 14 assists for #10 Wingate
- Ranks second on the team in goals and third in points
- Leads the SAC in shots, ranks 7th in the league in goals and 14th in points

Mia Cabrera (WXC & WTF)
- National Runner-up in the mile at the NCAA D2 Indoor championships
- Named Athlete of the Meet at SAC Indoor after winning the Mile & 3,000 Meters
- Was the runner-up at the XC Regionals to lead WU to the title; top WU finisher at Nationals 

Joaquin Campos (MTF & MXC)
- Was the runner-up at the SAC Cross Country championships as the 'Dogs won the title
- Was the runner-up in the mile run at the SAC Indoor Championships
- Finished 12th in the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 3,000 to earn 2nd Team All-American honors

Elsa Lamphere (Volleyball)
- Started every game for the SAC and regional champion Bulldogs, piling up 206 kills
- Averaged 2.04 kills and 2.9 digs per set, ranking second on the team with 5 double-doubles
- Hit .476 with 11 kills to lead the 'Dogs past Lander in the regional championship match, adding 9 digs

Kathryn McCabe (Women's Lacrosse)
- SAC Defensive Player of the Year and 1st Team All-SAC honoree
- Leads the SAC in draw controls and caused turnovers, ranking 2nd in ground balls
- Ranks in the top 20 in the nation in all 3 categories, helping WU lead the nation in caused turnovers

Aniyah Oliver (Women's Basketball)
- 3rd Team All-SAC honoree for the Bulldogs, leading the team with 103 assists on the year
- Ranked 3rd on the team with 9.9 points per game, while ranking 2nd with 42 steals
- Scored in double figure 16 times including a 21-point, nine-assist effort against UVA Wise

Sean Sullivan (BSB)
- Appeared in first 22 games before suffering a season-ending injury; still tied for team lead in homers
- Hit .299 with 7 homers, 6 doubles and 30 RBI, scoring 17 runs through 22 games
- Ranks 3rd on the team in RBI despite missing 25 games, posting a team-best .632 slugging percentage

PLAY OF THE YEAR (Watch Video)

Men's Cross Country finishes 1-6 at NCAA Regionals
- For the second straight year, the #1 team in the country won in as dominant fashion possible
- Wingate's 15 points was good for a 59-point win, led by Ricardo Barbosa's individual title
- Will Aitken, Luca Poppe, Antonin Saint Peyre & Scott Nutter rounded out the top 5 finishers

Titouan Le Grix wins national title at Indoor Mile
- The senior picked up the second individual national title of his career at the D2 Indoors
- Le Grix ran a 27.09 in the final 200 meters, finishing the mile in 3:59.15 to win the title
- His NCAA D2 meet record helped Wingate finish 7th at the Indoor national meet

Kendall Taylor game-winner vs. Mars Hill
- With the final game of the regular season tied in the final seconds, Kendall Taylor delivered
- With 4 seconds left, Taylor hit a contested step-back 3 to put WU on top 79-76
- The winner capped his 31-point, 11-rebound, 9-assist performance to wrap up his historic season

Kaleigh Wilgeroth OT game-winner vs. Florida Tech
- The Bulldogs opened the season in dramatic fashion, going to overtime against Florida Tech
- In the final seconds of the first overtime, Kaleigh Wilgeroth drew a foul
- The senior converted the free-position shot to give WU a thrilling 15-14 victory

Sophie Husted deep goal against Mount Olive
- Early in the second half, Sophie Husted had a loose ball from well outside the box
- Husted lined one into the upper right corner, past the diving keeper for the goal
- The goal gave the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead over the Trojans

Sean Clark double overtime winner at Newberry (SAC Quarterfinals)
- #12 Wingate and #13 Newberry were in an 11-11 tie through 65 minutes of action
- Just over a minute into the second overtime, the Bulldogs got the winner
- Sean Clark scored the tough-angle game winner, beating the keeper high on the near side

UPSET OF THE YEAR

Women's Basketball vs. #13 Coker
- Wingate handed the SAC & Region champs one of only 4 SAC losses in the 2024-25 season
- The 'Dogs led by as many as 16, then held off a Coker rally to prevail 64-63
- Lia Anderson had 18 points & 7 rebounds; Aniyah Oliver added 17 points on the night

Men's Basketball vs. #6 Lincoln Memorial
- Wingate handed the Railsplitters one of just 3 league losses on the year
- LMU led by 13 with 5 minutes left, but WU ended the game on a 19-3 run to secure the victory
- Kendall Taylor had 14 points, 5 boards, 4 assists & 4 steals; Corbin Pack added 14 points

Football at #12 Lenoir-Rhyne
- The Bulldogs went into Hickory and held the Bears to just 10 points in a big 14-10 SAC victory
- The defense held LR to just 175 total yards and 11 first downs, getting 2.5 TFLs from Marquise Fleming
- An O'Brien Barnett 30-yard TD run & Evan McCray 21-yard TD catch supplied the offense

Men's Soccer at #3 Florida Tech
- The Bulldogs notched a huge win on opening weekend of the season, winning 2-0 at Florida Tech
- Lucas Jansen scored in the 74th minute to open the scoring
- Pablo Pozos added a goal in the 80th minute to secure the win over the 2023 Final Four Team

Acro & Tumbling at King
- The Bulldogs went on the road and picked up a huge win in dramatic fashion at King
- Wingate prevailed over the Tornado 235.830-234.430 coming down to the final events
- The 'Dogs notched a 77.33 in the team event compared to King's 75.08 to make the difference

Field Hockey vs. #7 Mount Olive
- Wingate knocked off the first ranked team in program history with a 1-0 win over Mount Olive
- Coda Fisher scored 3 minutes into the first period off an Audrey Proulx assist
- The 'Dogs blanked the #7 Trojans all day, getting 7 Audra Szymborski saves

Men's Lacrosse at #2 Limestone (SAC Semifinals)
- The #10 Bulldogs punched their ticket to the SAC title game with a 17-16 OT win at #2 Limestone
- The Saints jumped out to a 7-1 lead, but Wingate scored 7 straight, taking a 9-8 halftime lead
- LU scored late to force OT, but Sam Goss scored with just over a minute left to give WU the win

Men's Swimming wins at Queens
- The men's swim team went to Charlotte and knocked off Queens University in a 132-130 thriller
- The Bulldogs won in the final event of the meet, getting a 1-2 finish in the 800 Freestyle Relay for the win
- Queens won 7 straight NCAA D2 National titles from 2015 through 2022, then transitioned to Division I in 2023 

GAME OF THE YEAR

Men's Cross Country at NCAA Southeast Regionals
- #1 Wingate won its 4th straight region title in style, with the top 6 finishers for perfect score of 15
- Ricardo Barbosa won the individual title, followed by Will Aitken, Luca Poppe and Antonin Saint Peyre
- Scott Nutter was 5th, while Joaquin Campos was 6th, finishing 18 seconds before a non-WU runner

Women's Cross Country at NCAA Southeast Regionals
- The Bulldogs captured their 3rd straight region title in dominant fashion
- Wingate had 4 of the top 8 finishers, rolling to a 45-point win over 2nd-place Flagler
- Mia Cabrera was 2nd, Firdaouss Hriche was 4th, Evie Brooks was 6th & Sira Bo finished 8th

Football SAC title game vs. Carson-Newman
- The Bulldogs avenged their lone SAC loss of the year in style, downing C-N 28-13 in the title game
- WU held the vaunted C-N offense to 84 total yards and 7 first downs, forcing 3 turnovers
- Caleb Bonesteel made all 5 field goals including 2 over 40 yards to earn MVP honors

Women's Triathlon wins USA Triathlon Division II National Title
- After a runner-up finish in 2023, Wingate won the USA Triathlon D2 Collegiate National Championship
- Carla Larrabeiti was the D2 Individual champion, helping the Bulldogs defeat LR by 5 points
- Grace Nolan was WU's #2 finisher, followed by Pamela Hernandez Quevedo & Paula Auschill
Volleyball claims 7th regional title in Cuddy Arena  
- Wingate claimed its 7th regional title in style, sweeping past Lander in Cuddy Arena
- The 'Dogs were dominant, piling up 43 kills in 3 sets while holding Lander to a .121 hitting percentage
- WU won the 1st two sets 25-17 & 25-18; then held off a Lander rally to win the final frame 25-23

BEST COMEBACK WIN

Women's Lacrosse vs. Newberry
- The Wolves scored with 5:55 left in the 3rd period to take an 11-4 lead into the 4th
- WU scored the first 6 goals of the 4th, with a Nelida Watson goal making it 11-10 with 6:10 left
- NC went up 2, but a Watson goal, then Kaleigh Wilgeroth goal with 33 seconds left forced OT
- Bree Solero scored in the final minute of the third overtime to give Wingate the 13-12 win

Men's Basketball at Tusculum
- TU took a 45-28 lead over Wingate with 17:35 remaining in the second half
- The 'Dogs went on a 33-6 run over the next 15 minutes
- That run turned the 17-point deficit into a 61-51 lead with 1:51 to go
- Kendall Taylor poured in 13 points during the game-changing run for the Bulldogs

Women's Golf in SAC Championship
- The #3 Bulldogs entered the final round of the SAC Championship trailing #1 Anderson by 7 shots
- Wingate fired a 1-under par 287 in the final round, 10 shots better than the Trojans to win by 3
- Amely Bochaton led the charge, pouring in 7 birdies to shoot 66 and win the individual title going away
- Olivia Meinecke & Jess Brown each sot even par 72; Noelia Adkins finished 5th overall

Field Hockey vs. Converse
- Converse scored with just over 2 minutes left in regulation to take a 1-0 lead
- Rylie Cordrey scored with just 1:16 left in the final frame off a Riley Robinson assist to tie it
- The game went to overtime, where Wingate took over, taking 5 of the 6 shots
- Cordrey scored the winner 3 minutes into OT to give the 'Dogs the key SAC victory

Softball at Anderson
- Wingate trailed 4-3 in the 7th at Anderson when Kaylee Furr scored on a Lily Huneycutt SAC fly to tie it
-  Hannah Stevens put WU on top 5-4 in the 8th with an RBI single
- Raelynn Kramer followed with a 3-run homer to put the 'Dogs on top 8-4
- AU got a 2-run homer in the bottom of the frame, but Jillian Thomas induced a game-ending popout

MEN'S TEAM OF THE YEAR

Cross Country
- SAC & Region Champs were #1 team in the nation all season
- National runner-up for 2nd time in 3 years, after winning 2023 national title

Football
- The SAC champs went 9-2 on the year, going 6-1 in SAC play to earn an NCAA play-off bid
- Ranked in the top 10 nationally in 10 defensive categories, leading nation in 2 categories

Golf
- Ranked #13 in the national rankings, Wingate has piled up 5 wins
- The 'Dogs also have 2 runner-up finishes, coming off last year's national quarterfinal appearance  

Swimming
- The Bulldogs captured their 3rd straight SAC title, rolling to a 243-point victory
- Wingate finished 6th at the NCAA championships, earning All-American honors in 15 events

Lacrosse
- The #10 Bulldogs are 13-4 on the season, climbing as high as #5 in the national poll
- Defeated #13 Newberry & #2 Limestone in the SAC Tourney to advance to Saturday's title game

Tennis
- The Bulldogs are 17-2 on the season, going 11-1 in conference play
- Ranked #11 in the national poll, playing in the SAC title game for the 13th time in 15 years

Track & Field
- Wingate rolled to a 3rd straight SAC indoor title, prevailing by 91 points over 2nd-place LR
- The Bulldogs finished 7th at the Indoor national championships, led by national champ Titouan Le Grix

WOMEN'S TEAM OF THE YEAR

Cross Country
- The Bulldogs rolled to SAC and Regional championships
- Wingate finished 8th at the NCAA D2 National Championships
Golf
- Nation's #2 team has piled up 7 wins in 11 tourneys including the SAC Championship
- 1 of 2 teams in the country with 2 top-12 national players (Bochaton #1, Brown #12)

Lacrosse
- #15 Wingate is 17-1 overall, going 11-0 in SAC play to win 3rd straight regular season SAC title
- 'Dogs lead the nation in caused turnovers, ranking in the top 10 in 11 national categories

Soccer
- The Bulldogs captured the first regular season title in program history
- Wingate went 12-4-3 on the year and 9-1-1 in the SAC, earning 3rd straight NCAA Tourney bid

Softball
- #25 Wingate is 35-19, going 18-6 in SAC play to win 3rd straight regular season SAC title
- SAC Tourney hosts rank top 15 in the nation in hits, homers, runs, total bases & slugging percentage

Swimming
- Wingate rolled to a 3rd straight SAC title, winning by 115 points over 2nd-place Catawba
- The 'Dogs were 13th at the NCAA Championships, collecting All-American honors in 7 events

Tennis
- The Bulldogs have ranked inside the top 20 all season, going 17-5 overall
- 11-1 in league play, advancing to the SAC title match for the 8th straight year

Track & Field
- The Bulldogs won their 3rd straight SAC indoor title, beating 2nd-place LR by 47 points
- 23rd-place finish at D2 Indoor Championships highlighted by Mia Cabrera runner-up finish in the mile

Triathlon
- Wingate won the D2 title at the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships
- 5 All-Americans including D2 national champ (Larrabeiti) & Freshman of the Year (Auschill)

Volleyball
- WU won its 17th regular season SAC title in 18 years, adding 14th SAC Tourney title in 18 years
- Bulldogs went 31-3 overall & 17-1 in the SAC, capturing the 7th region title since 2010

MALE FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

Alex Collumb (Cross Country)
- Earned second team All-SAC honors,
- Also earned a spot on the All-SAC Freshman Team
- He finished 14th at the SAC meet, leading the Bulldogs to their 4th straight SAC title

Fernando Dehaudt (Swimming)
- SAC Freshman & Swimmer of the Year was the national runner-up in the 500 Freestyle
- Also a 1st Team All-American in the 1650 Free with his 4th-place showing
- Set SAC records in the 500, 1,000 & 1650; honorable mention All-American in the 1,000 Free

Brandon Skidmore (Golf)
- SAC Freshman of the Year earned 1st Team All-SAC honors for #13 Wingate
- 71.7 stroke average this season, piling up 18 rounds of par or better
- Has 5 top-5 finishes including a runner-up showing at Spring Kickoff, finishing -8 (70, 67, 71)

Jordan Dixon (Baseball)
- Dixon is tied for the team lead with his 7 homers this season
- He is hitting .277 on the year with 5 doubles, 24 RBI and 21 runs scored
- He ranks second on the team in slugging percentage and total bases

FEMALE FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

Paula Auschill (Triathlon)
- Earned CTCA second team All-American honors
- CTCA Division II National Freshman of the Year
- Was Wingate's number 4 finisher at Nationals as the 'Dogs took home the USA Triathlon D2 title

Amely Bochaton (Golf)
- Number one player in the nation has won 6 of her 11 tournaments, adding 2 runner-up finishes
- SAC Player & Freshman of the Year won the SAC title, leading #2 Wingate to the team championship
- Wingate & SAC record 70.6 stroke average is a nominee for the prestigious Arnold Palmer Cup

Audur Helga Halldorsdottir (Soccer)
- 1st Team All-SAC honoree for the regular season SAC champion Bulldogs
- She led the Bulldogs with 6 assists and 20 points, ranking 2nd on the team with 7 goals
- Ranked 5th in the SAC in assists and 7th in points

Abby Heney (Acro) 
- Heney  was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year
- Completed in 13 events, posting high marks of 9.9/10 in Open Pyramid & 9.75 in Compulsory Toss
- Set program high scores in 11 separate events, helping the 2nd-year Bulldogs collect 5 victories

Elizabete Paula Ozola (Swimming)
- Earned All-American honors in 3 events for the Bulldogs
- 1st Team All-American in the 200 Medley Relay; 2nd Team AA in 200 & 800 Free Relays
- SAC Champ in 400 & 800 Free Relays; SAC runner-up in 100 Back, 200 Free, 200 Free Relay

Amelia Talbott (Beach Volleyball)
- Talbott was named the SAC Freshman of the Year
- Earned 1st Team All-Conference honors for the first-year Wingate program
- Played every match at number one pairs for the 'Dogs, piling up 11 victories

BULLDOG SPIRIT AWARD
(The spirit award recognizes an athlete that has dedicated at least three years of excellent service to the institution, community and the athletic department. Their spirit for Wingate is seen on and off the field. Nominees for this award show outstanding passion for Wingate athletics, are visible all over campus at sporting events and represent the Bulldog blue & gold with heart and pride.)

Savanna Brooks (Softball)
- 2024 SAC & Region Player of the Year, SAC Scholar-Athlete, NFCA 2nd Team All-American
- 1st Team Academic All-America honoree in 2023 & 2024 graduated with a 4.0 in Exercise Science
- Wingate's all-time leader with 60 homers, also WU all-time leader in RBI, total bases & runs scored
- The SAAC President is also involved in FCA, Samaritan's Purse, United Way & Special Olympics
- NCAA D2 active career leader in RBI & total bases, ranking second in homers  

Grace Burrell (Cross Country/Track & Field)
- The 3-time All-SAC honoree has a 3.896 GPA, majoring in Psychology
- 2024 SAC Cross Country Scholar-Athlete, leading WUXC to SAC & Region titles
- The All-Region honoree in 2022 helped the 'Dogs finish 8th at nationals in 2023 & 2024
- Research Assistant in WU Psych. Lab, volunteers at animal sanctuary and with her hometown run club
- Member of the WU Honors Program, nominated for Psi Chi Society; also works with Athletic Comms.

Ney Chagas Filho (Swimming)
- Multiple-time All-American & 2-time Academic All-America honoree has a 3.805 GPA, major is Finance
- 2-time SAC champ in the 100 & 200 Back
- Earned 1st Team All-American honors in '25 400 Medley Relay & 100 & 200 back in 2023
- Honorable mention All-American in the 100 & 200 Back, along with 200 Medley Relay in '25
- Team captain serves as a swim instructor, life guard and volunteer at high school swim meets

Jordan Hyland (Men's Golf)
- The Academic All-America honoree has a 4.00 GPA in Wingate's MBA program
- 1st Team All-SAC honoree in 2025 helped lead the 'Dogs to the 2024 national quarterfinals
- Has a 71.8 scoring average this year with 4 top-5 finishes including a win and WU 54-hole record
- The 4-time Ping All-American has 6 career collegiate wins & 4 NCAA national tourney appearances
- He has served with OneDay OneDog, while also volunteering at Wingate Elementary School

Florian Walcher (Men's Tennis)
- The 4-time All-SAC honoree is a 3-time 1st Team selection' 2022 SAC & Region Freshman of the Year
- Has compiled a career 57-11 record during his singles career, ranking as high as #17 nationally
- Has a 3.922 GPA, majoring in Exercise Science & Psychology – ITA Scholar All-American
- WU Honors program, has served as a peer tutor at WU Academic Resource center
- OneDay OneDog volunteer, United Way, volunteer with Hilfswerk Company & Sports Therapy Center

Kaleigh Wilgeroth (Lacrosse)
- The 3-time All-SAC honoree earned IWLCA All-Region & All-American honors in 2024
- The two-time Academic All-America honoree has also been named to the IWLCA Honor Roll
- Coaches varsity lacrosse at Weddington High School, also coaches Club Team The Rapids in SC
- Has a 4.0 GPA, majoring in Criminal Justice; volunteered with OneDay OneDog & United Way
- Was an intern with WU Campus Safety in the fall of 2024

MALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Fernando Deahaudt (MSWIM)
- SAC Freshman & Swimmer of the Year was the national runner-up in the 500 Freestyle

- Has led WU to ranking 3rd in the nation in assists, 4th in points & 5th in scoring offense

Kendall Taylor (MBB)
- 1st Team All-SAC and All-Region earned D2CCA 3rd Team All-American honors
- WU-record 24.4 points per game, adding 8.1 rebounds & 4.6 assists per game; 5th in nation in ppg
- Scored over 20 points in 21 of 27 games; only D2 player to average 24 ppg, 8 rpg and shoot over 50%

Amely Bochaton (Golf)
- Number one player in the nation has won 6 of her 11 tournaments, adding 2 runner-up finishes
- SAC Player & Freshman of the Year won the SAC title, leading #2 Wingate to the team championship
- Wingate & SAC record 70.6 stroke average is a nominee for the prestigious Arnold Palmer Cup

Rylie Cordrey (Field Hockey)
- Named SAC Offensive Player of the Year, earning 1st Team All-Conference honors
- First All-American in program history, earning NFHCA 2nd Team accolades
- Led the 'Dogs with 11 goals and 6 assists while also being named to the NFHCA Senior Team

Natalia Dwojak (Swimming)
- The SAC Swimmer of the Year collected 5 All-American trophies in 2025
- 4 1st Team All-America swims (100 Breast, 200 & 400 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay)
- SAC Swimmer of the Meet set SAC records in 100 Breast & 200 IM; also won 400 Medley Relay

Chloe Kosmrlj (Tennis)
- 4-time All-SAC honoree is a three-time 1st Team All-SAC selection
- Has played every match at #1 singles for #19 Wingate, going 15-3 on the season
- Has gone 49-10 at #1 and #2 singles over the past 3 years for the Bulldogs

Carla Larrabeiti (Triathlon)
- The CTCA 1st Team All-American won led Wingate to USA Triathlon D2 national title
- She was the top D2 finisher at the event, earning the D2 individual national championship
- She also notched a 3rd-place finish to lead Wingate to a 3rd straight regional victory

Megan Millard (Lacrosse)
- Was named the SAC Midfielder of the Year, also earning 1st Team All-SAC honors
- Team-best 56 goals & 69 points, ranking 3rd in the SAC in goals & points for the SAC champs
- Also ranks in the top 15 in the conference in draw controls & caused turnovers

Sydney Morland (Volleyball)
- SAC Player of the Year while also earning AVCA & D2CCA Region Player of the Year honors
- Named AVCA & D2CCA 2nd Team All-American, along with 3rd Team Academic All-America honors
- SAC Tourn. MVP led nation in hitting% during the regular season, setting WU & SAC record in hitting

Hannah Stevens (Softball)
- 1st Team All-SAC honoree has blasted 17 homers, second-most in WU single-season history
- Hitting .406 with 16 doubles, 17 homers, 52 RBI & 50 runs for the SAC champs
