Cleveland, Tenn.----What does a team that wins seven tournaments the previous season do to start the next campaign? In the case of the No. 3 Wingate University women's golf team…you win the first tournament of the following season. On Tuesday, the Bulldogs put the pedal to the medal, taking the checked flag by 15 strokes in the NCAA Division II South Regional Preview hosted by Lee University at the
Cleveland Country Club.
Wingate shot a Tuesday-best round of 290 to finish 54 holes at 13-over-par 877, 15 strokes better than 36-hole co-leader Lynn. The LU Fighting Knights posted an even-par 288 in the second round, pulling into a tie with the 'Dogs. Lander, Lee and Anderson rounded out the top five teams in the 16-team tournament. The Wingate Bulldogs and the AU Trojans finished 1-2 in the 2025 South Atlantic Conference tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.

Amely Bochaton won her seventh career individual title by one stroke over junior teammate
Jacqueline Gonzalez Howard. Both Bochaton and Gonzalez Howard shot one-under-par 71s Tuesday to finish 54 holes at one-under-par 215 and even-par 216, respectively.
Only one stroke separated the two teammates entering Tuesday's final round.
Paramore and Meinecke give the 'Dogs four in the top 10

Haley Paramore and
Olivia Meinecke tied for ninth place at seven-over-par 223. Meinecke had an even-par 72 Tuesday, while Paramore posted a four-over-par 76. Playing in only her second intercollegiate tournament, Paramore recorded a career-best round of one-under-par 71 in Monday's second stanza.

Up next for the No. 3 Wingate Bulldogs
The Bulldogs will return to the links Monday and Tuesday, September 22-23, as they will participate in the Eckerd College Invitational in Gulfport, Florida. The Eckerd College Tritons host this event at the
Pasadena Yacht and Country Club.
