Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs rolled to an 84-51 victory over Mars Hill University Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate improves to 9-5 overall and 4-4 in the SAC, while the Lions fall to 4-11 overall and 1-7 in league play.

- Two Shyann McCummings free throws cut the lead to two at the 6:48 mark
- An Ekperigha jumper and Merceron layup capped a 5-0 run, giving WU a 15-6 lead
- A Jadyiah Peoples triple with 2:12 to go pulled the Lions within five
- Layups from Montiel and Bacon put the 'Dogs on top 26-15
SECOND QUARTER
- Wingate opened the second quarter with an 11-0 run to stretch the lead to 20
- Merceron had five points in the flurry, Ekperigha's jumper at the 6:03 mark capped the spurt
- A People jumper with 1:58 remaining cut the lead to 15
- The Bulldogs scored the next six, taking a 47-26 lead on a Hughes jumper
- A Peoples free throw with 16 seconds left made it 47-27 at halftime
THIRD QUARTER
- Three Montiel layups gave Wingate a 53-27 advantage three minutes into the second half
- Buckets from Montiel and Harvey extended the lead to 28 at the 2:19 mark
FOURTH QUARTER
- A Harris three with 6:35 remaining gave the Bulldogs a 67-37 lead
- Bacon added a layup at the 4:44 mark to put the lead back at 30
