Emory, Va.----The Wingate University Bulldogs raced out to a 9-0 lead Saturday afternoon and never trailed, prevailing 83-79 at Emory & Henry in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action. Wingate improves to 8-8 overall and 3-7 in the SAC, while the Wasps fall to 10-6 overall and 5-5 in league play.

- His bucket at the 13:55 mark put the 'Dogs on top 17-5
- A Jaden Andrews putback at the 8:30 mark cut the lead to five
- A Nas Berry triple and Jayden Street layup made it 26-16 a minute later
- Threes from Derek Bradley and Stephen Quinn gave the Bulldogs a 13-point cushion with six minutes left
- An Assad Madassalia layup at the 2:31 mark cut the lead to eight at 32-24
- A jumper and layup from Godley in the final 90 seconds gave WU a 40-26 halftime lead

SECOND HALF

- Dunks from Campbell and Godley sparked a 6-0 run to start the second half, making it 46-26
- A Melchoir Hughes three cut it to 16, but a Jacori Owens layup made it 51-33 at the 14:29 mark
- An Isaac Hymes layup with 13:24 to go pulled the Wasps within 11
- Miller's triple extended the lead back to 14 at 56-42
- A Campbell jumper and Pack layup put the 'Dogs on top 63-48 with 8:21 remaining
- Two Jackson Crawford free throws at the 6:42 mark made it a 10-point game
- A Godley triple and Campbell layup pushed the lead back to 17 with 5:30 to go
- A Hughes three cut it back to 13, but a Godley layup with 2:41 left made it 78-62
- E&H scored the next 12, getting a pair of Hughes threes to make it 78-74 with 1:09 remaining
- Two Godley free throws pushed the lead back to six, but an Andrews triple made it 80-77 with 24 seconds left
- Campbell answered with a dunk to extend it back to five with 14 seconds remaining
- Two Crawford free throws made it 82-79 with eight seconds left
- Bradley made a free throw on the other end, giving the 'Dogs the four-point cushion
