Winston-Salem, N.C.----The Wingate University indoor track and field teams started second semester the way they concluded the first term at the JDL Fast Track Mondo College Invitational Saturday. The Bulldogs earned two gold medals during the event while posting numerous NCAA provisional and personal-best marks.

What They Are Saying
Wingate junior student-athlete T'Asya Jay (Shepherdstown, W.Va.)

"Hayat Abdeselam and Chelsey Thomas really worked hard in the 60-meter dash with the times of 7.84 and 7.96, respectively. On the men's side, Jacoby Craig also had a great season opener in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.53. Personally, I achieved personal-best times in the 400 meters (1:01.75) and the 60-meter hurdles (9.39). Overall, this was a great first meet back from break!"

Wingate sophomore student-athlete Kenton Fields (Greenville, S.C.)

"It was a good day for the Bulldogs at the JDL Mondo College Invite. As a team, we set a lot of PRs. We also had many people in the finals, such as Kimberly Navarrete who finished sixth in the triple jump finals with 10.54. Another great personal-best effort was Shane Levesque with a 4:14.55 in the mile. Personally, I ran a 20-second, personal-best time in the 3000 meters. It's only the start of the season, so we've got many areas where we can improve."
