Boston, Mass.----Always up for a challenge, distance specialists from the Wingate University men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational Friday and Saturday. The annual event is hosted by Boston University at its Track and Tennis Center.
Lars Laros and
Luca Poppe finished 18th and 19th, respectively, in the men's 3000 meters. Laros posted a time of 7:53.17, while Poppe was next at 7:53.81. The race featured 209 runners from every NCAA division. Wingate's dynamic duo defeated student-athletes from Alabama, Auburn, Michigan State and Oregon, among others.
