Columbus, Ga.----The Wingate University Bulldogs got complete-game shutouts from
Jillian Thomas and
Lily Huneycutt Saturday afternoon, picking up a pair of wins on day one of the Red-White-Blue Classic at Columbus State. Wingate blanked Florida Southern 4-0, then took down Tuskegee 2-0 to move to 2-0 on the year.

- Thomas got the win, moving to 1-0 on the year
- She struck out nine and walked two, allowing just three hits in the shutout
- Thomas retired 10 straight from the first through fourth inning
- She then retired the final 10 batters of the game, striking out two in the seventh
- Amanda Liberman took the loss, allowing a run on four hits in four innings
