Records fall as #13 Wingate rolls to 23-7 victory at Tusculum

Greeneville, Tenn.----The Wingate University Bulldogs opened league play in style, with two players breaking program records en route to a 23-7 victory at Tusculum University in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. Stacy Glover scored a new WU-record 10 goals, while Sophie Pavlick shattered the school record with 21 draw controls on the day. The 'Dogs move to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the SAC, while the Pioneers fall to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in league play.

SECOND QUARTER

- Glover scored off a Fuchs assist 97 seconds in to the second quarter
- Buckmaster scored off Rondeau's assist to make it 10-3
- Glover's goal off a Brooks assist with 6:52 remaining gave Wingate an eight-goal lead
- A Laura Nance Pickens goal at the 4:41 mark cut the lead to six
- Glover answered a minute later off Solero's assist
- Buckmaster scored in the final minute off Benner's assist to make it 13-5 at halftime

THIRD QUARTER

- Fuchs scored off Garvin's assist two minutes into the second half to star the scoring
- Glover's goal off a Diedrich assist two minutes later gave the Bulldogs a 10-goal lead
- Solero made it 16-5 at the 8:43 mark, scoring off a Jones assist
- Slayton scored with 90 seconds left in the frame to make it 17-6

FOURTH QUARTER

- Glover scored 21 seconds into the final frame off a Knutson assist
- She struck again 80 seconds later to give the 'Dogs a 19-6 advantage
- A Fuchs goal off Garvin's assist with 5:48 remaining gave the Bulldogs 20 goals on the day
