Greenville, S.C.----The top-ranked Wingate University women's golf team sits second overall heading into the final round of the South Atlantic Conference championships at The Preserve at Verdae, just behind No. 24 Lincoln Memorial.

The Bulldogs posted rounds of eight-over-par and 11-over-par through 36 holes, combining for 21 birdies and an eagle across the first two rounds. Wingate led the field in par-four scoring, with sophomores Amely Bochaton and Olivia Meinecke pacing all players in the category.

The No. 1 ranked player in the nation, Bochaton led the Bulldogs with rounds of two-under-par and three-over-par. She recorded seven birdies and an eagle across the two rounds and sits one shot off the individual lead heading into the final round.

Meinecke (No. 5 national) also remains in contention near the top of the leaderboard. She posted rounds of two-under-par and three-over-par as well, totaling six birdies and sitting only one shot off the lead alongside Bochaton.

Senior Lauren Sutcliffe provided a steady performance, carding rounds of six-over-par and even-par with six birdies across the two rounds. Sophomore Haley Paramore added depth to the lineup, contributing across both rounds, while junior Jackie Gonzalez Howard rounded out the Bulldog scoring in the second round.

Wingate will look to make a strong final-round push as the Bulldogs aim to defend their SAC championship title heading into the match play portion of the tournament, which follows the same format as the NCAA Division II national championship event.
