RESULTS | Wake Forest Invitational complete results
 
Winston-Salem, N.C.----Wingate University men's outdoor track and field freshman Klaus Scholz had two stellar performances at the Wake Forest University Invitational Thursday and Friday, April 16-17. Atlantic Coast Conference member WFU hosted this event inside the Kentner Stadium.
 
Scholz ran personal-best marks in the men's 800 meters (1:47.09) and the men's 1500 meters (3:42.64), finishing third in his 800 Invite race and first in his 1500 Invite competition. His 800 meters mark lowers his school-record and charts No. 2 in the NCAA Division II this year. His 1500 meters time is No. 14 in D2 this season.

"The trip to Wake Forest was great. WU head coach Jackie Kirby took us and the vibes with her are always good. She takes care of us. Only three of us, Alexis Collomb, Klaus Scholz and I went up to race Thursday night. You already know whenever you go to a track meet at night by the big lights it will be fun, and so was this one. Not all of our performance necessarily reflected this, but that's just how racing is. Everyone has good and bad days. I appreciated how Coach Kirby was there for us and looked out for our needs."
