Wingate’s Amely Bochaton is SAC Women’s Golfer of the Week

Rock Hill, S.C.----Wingate University sophomore Amely Bochaton (Evian Les Bains, France) is the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Golfer of the Week for the fourth two weeks of the '26 NCAA championship campaign. Bochaton receives this distinction for the sixth time this season and the ninth time in her WU career.
 
The No. 1 ranked player in the nation, Bochaton earned Grand Harbor Classic medalist honors with a playoff victory by birdie on the first playoff hole Tuesday. The win marks her 11th collegiate title and fifth of her sophomore season.
 
Bochaton posted rounds of 71-68-70, highlighted by five birdies and an eagle in round two. She birdied the opening hole of the final round while holding the lead. Thanks to the efforts of Bochaton and her teammates, Wingate won its seventh tournament title of the season.
 
Next on the agenda for No. 1 Wingate women's golf
 
The No. 1 Wingate women's golf team competes in the North Carolina Challenge Cup Saturday. The UNC Chapel Hill Tar Heels host the one-day, 36-hole tournament at the Finley Golf Club.

Competition begins at 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Admission is free and parking is available for the public at the Finley Field Lot by the soccer/lacrosse/track complex on Old Mason Farm Road.
 
Wingate is the only Division II team in the field. The 12th-ranked Tar Heels are the highest-ranked Division I team in the field, which also includes UAB, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Michigan State, NC Central, UNCG, UNCW, Presbyterian, Queens, USC Upstate and William & Mary.
