No. 5 Wingate dominates stroke play, wins SAC title by nine shots; Match play is next

Greenville, S.C.----The No. 5 Wingate University men's golf team delivered a statement performance at the South Atlantic Conference championship Monday, closing with a six-under-par final round to win the 54-hole stroke play portion by nine shots inside The Preserve at Verdae layout.
 
The Bulldogs carried a six-shot lead into the final round and extended it behind another impressive team effort, showcasing depth and consistency across the lineup. Wingate's six-under-par 282 was the lowest third-round tally Monday.

- Senior Lewis Beeden, the No. 1 ranked player in the nation, continued his elite play
- Beeden fired a three-under-par round with six birdies
- He finished second overall individually after leading through 36 holes
- Sophomore Cole Rouse delivered a standout performance in round three
- Rouse carded a three-under-par round with six birdies
- He surged into a third-place finish individually
- Senior Alfie Storer remained in contention throughout the event
