USILA All-South Region

Louisville, Ky.----The South Atlantic Conference regular season champion Wingate University Bulldogs had eight players earn USILA All-South Region honors, officials announced Wednesday afternoon. Vinny Butrico has been named the Region Offensive Player of the Year. He is joined on the All-Region first team by Kyle Spence and Graham Tillett, with Joey Moran earning second team honors and Mason McGivern collecting third team accolades. In addition, Jaxon Grant, Quad Williams and Sean Clark are honorable mention selections.

Butrico gives the Bulldogs the region's Offensive Player of the Year for the fifth straight season. Willie Grieco won the honor three straight years, while Spence took home the hardware last season. Butrico was also named the SAC Offensive Player of the Year, adding first team all-conference accolades. He poured in 68 goals this year, adding 17 assists for 85 points, adding 34 ground balls. He led the SAC in goals while ranking third in points. Butrico ranked second in the nation in total goals and goals per game (4.00). He scored multiple goals in 15 of 17 games, while scoring five or more goals seven times including a WU-record 11-goal effort at #2 Anderson.

Spence adds All-Region honors to his first team All-SAC selection. The 2025 SAC and Region Offensive Player of the Year and All-American piled up 28 goals and 58 assists on the season, adding 31 ground balls. Spence led the 'Dogs with 86 points, ranking second in the conference while ranking second nationally in assists and assists per game. He ranked eighth nationally in points per game on the season. Spence had multiple points in every game this season, going for nine points in the season opener, while notching back-to-back eight-point performances against North Greenville and LMU.

Tillett was also a first team All-SAC honoree, while being named the SAC Defensive Player of the Year. He was a key factor in a WU defense that ranked second in scoring defense during the regular season. Tillett led the Bulldogs with 24 caused turnovers, while also piling up 43 ground balls, good for second on the team. He had at least one CT in 12 of 17 games this season, posting four-CT efforts against Florida Southern and North Greenville, adding three CTs and five ground balls at Mars Hill.

Moran was another first team All-SAC selection for the 'Dogs this season. The senior piled up 48 points from the midfield position, compiling 36 goals and 12 assists to go along with 18 ground balls and 10 CTs. He ranked third on the team in goals and fourth in points. Moran notched at least one point in every game this season, registering four goals and an assist in the win over #12 Catawba while adding three goals and an assist in the SAC title game. He also had back-to-back four-goal efforts in regular season wins over #2 Anderson and Mars Hill.

McGivern picks up All-Region accolades for the first time in his career. The senior earned second team All-SAC accolades at the defensive midfield position. Another huge factor in one of the league's top defenses, McGivern piled up 29 ground balls, adding 12 caused turnovers. McGivern had multiple ground balls eight times on the year, piling up four CTs and four ground balls against North Greenville, while adding a CT and four ground balls at Belmont Abbey.

Grant adds honorable mention All-Region honors to his third team All-SAC selection. The senior appeared in all 17 games for the SAC champs, registering 14 goals and 21 assists to go along with 13 ground balls and three caused turnovers. He had multiple points 12 times on the season, notching three goals and an assist at Belmont Abbey and handing out four assists at Mars Hill. Grant had a goal and three assists in the SAC Tourney semifinal win over Anderson.

Williams earned first team All-SAC accolades in 2026. The senior started all 17 games, piling up 152 saves for the Bulldogs. He posted a .481 save percentage on the season. Williams ranked third in the SAC in goals-against average and fourth in save percentage. He had double-digit saves eight times on the year, going for 14 saves in the season opener while piling up 16 saves in the win at #2 Anderson, collecting 15 saves in the win over #12 Catawba.
