Indianapolis, Ind.----The Wingate University men's and women's tennis teams have both earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II tennis tournaments. Both fields were announced Monday night. The Bulldog women are the six seed in the Southeast Region and will travel to Columbus, Ga. on Friday, May 8 to take on Flagler at 2 p.m. The men are the five seed in the Southeast Region, set to take on fourth-seeded North Georgia Monday, May 11 in Salisbury, N.C. at 2 p.m.

On the women's side, Catawba is the number one seed in the regional, followed by Columbus State. The Indians and Cougars will serve as the two host teams. Flagler is the three seed, followed by North Georgia, Lenoir-Rhyne, Wingate, Newberry and Erskine. The Wingate vs. Flagler winner will face the Columbus State vs. Newberry winner on Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m.

On the men's side, Catawba is the number one seed, with Columbus State earning the two seed, both teams serving as the host schools. Flagler is the three seed, followed by North Georgia, Wingate, Lander, Belmont Abbey and Mount Olive. The Wingate-North Georgia winner will take on the Catawba vs. Mount Olive winner Tuesday, May 12 at noon in Salisbury.

The Wingate women are 15-6 overall, going 9-2 in league play to earn the at-large bid. The Bulldogs are making their eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 21st in program history. The 'Dogs advanced to the national quarterfinals in 2024. Wingate is ranked 11th in the most recent ITA national poll.

The Wingate men enter NCAA Tourney play at 15-7 overall, going 10-1 in league play and advancing to the SAC title match. The 'Dogs are making their eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 13th in program history. Of those 13, 11 have come since 2012. Wingate has won a match in five of its last seven trips. The Bulldogs are ranked 18th in the most recent ITA national poll.
