Personal: Ethan Strickland hit .439 as a junior for head coach Joey Miriello and Triton High School in 2008. Strickland led the team with three home runs and 24 RBI, helping Triton to its second consecutive play-off appearance and its second straight first round win. Strickland stole 39 bases in 40 attempts last season. He hit .502 in 2007 with two home runs and 13 doubles. He swiped 37 bases as a sophomore. On the mound, he compiled a 6-2 record in 2008, posting a 1.89 ERA. Over the last two seasons, Strickland’s pitching record is 13-3 overall. A first team All-Conference performer two years in a row, Strickland was a Region 4 State Games participant in 2008. He played for the Carolina Cubs Showcase team in 2008. He was a CCSSL Showcase All-Star participant two years in a row. Ethan Strickland was a top-flight student at Triton. He was a four-year member of the Alpha Honors Society and the Beta Club. Strickland is also involved in the community, as he has been a member of the Big Brother Big Sister Club for four years.
