Biography
Ashia is a three-year letter winner for the Wingate cheerleading team. She is an English major with a minor in Legal Studies. Crooms belongs to the Sigma Tau Delta international English honor society and the WU English Club. She has been named to the Wingate President’s List four times and the Dean’s List two times. Crooms will graduate a semester early in December, 2012.
On campus, Crooms serves as a Presidential Ambassador. She is a founding member of the Virtuous Praise Gospel Choir, serving as the group’s vice-president in 2011-12. Crooms was the president of the Wingate University Black Student Union as a sophomore. At Harding University High School, Crooms was a top 10 National Cheerleader of the Year finalist her senior year. She was a captain for her high school team and her all-stars team. Ashia is the daughter of Oliver and Arnetta Crooms.
