Wingate University Athletics

Jamie Lybrand begins her third year with the Bulldog cheerleaders in the fall of 2009. She received the team’s Most Improved Award following her freshman season (2007-08).

During her time at Crest High School, Lybrand spent four years as a cheerleader. Her coach was Shelley Lowrey. In addition, she was a member of the Starlite competition team for five years and the Top Gun competition team for one year. In the classroom, Lybrand was a member of the Beta Club and the National Honor Roll.

At Wingate, Lybrand is active in Campus Outreach and Breathe. Academically, she is attending Wingate on an academic merit scholarship and an N.C. Baptist scholarship. Lybrand is a Dean’s List student. Jamie is the daughter of Jim and Lynn Lybrand. Jamie is related to Gardner-Webb Hall of Fame baseball player Bobby Lail.
