Biography

Ben Benshoof is a pre-season All-SAC choice. Benshoof and his offensive line mates helped the Bulldogs rank second in the SAC in passing offense last season. Wingate averaged 238.4 passing yards per game in 2008. Benshoof has blocked for Nelson Woods as he has topped the 1000-yard plateau two years in a row. In 2006, Benshoof helped the Wingate passing game rank first in the SAC and eighth in NCAA Division II with 273.8 yards per game. Benshoof was an All-Conference and All-Mecklenburg County offensive lineman at North Mecklenburg High School. He led the team in pancake blocks his senior year with 28. Benshoof did not allow a sack his senior campaign. A member of the WU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Sport Science Majors Club, he is the son of Steve and Tammy Benshoof.
