Biography

Cody Cole provided the Bulldog defense a solid presence between the tackles, posting 18 total tackles in 2009. Five of his stops resulted in a loss. Cole had five tackles in a big victory at Catawba (Oct. 24). His size and quick hands will give opposing offensive linemen problems all year long. Cole is Wingate academic top 10 student and a SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll member. 

Cole had nine tackles in 2008, including three stops in a win over Tusculum. Cole posted two tackles in a victory over ECSU. A National Honor Society member at Cardinal Mooney, Cole was named Most Valuable offensive lineman his senior season. A team captain for coach Mike Dowling, Cole was first team All-Area and All-State. In 2006, Cardinal Mooney won the district and regional titles. Cole transferred to Wingate after one season at Mount Union (Ohio) College. He is the son of Casey and Kathy Cole.
