Marcus Davis returns to the Wingate roster after missing the 2008 season. For his Bulldog career, he has 164 carries for 664 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2006, Davis led Wingate with 130 attempts for 479 yards and seven scores. He caught eight passes for 35 yards during the 2006 campaign. In a 2006 home victory over Concord (W.Va.), Davis topped the Bulldog charts with a career-high 127 yards on 15 carries. He scored two touchdowns against the CU Mountain Lions. At Albemarle, Davis rushed for almost 5700 yards and 95 touchdowns during his three-year varsity career. As a senior, he was conference Player of the Year, All-County and All-State. Davis was a two-time state championship game MVP for AHS head coach Jack Gaster. He won three state titles with Albemarle. As a senior, Davis compiled 2038 rushing yards on 225 carries. He scored 32 touchdowns during his senior season. Marcus is the son of Wayne Davis and Betty Adams.
