Biography
2010-11: In his freshman year, Robert Carpenter played in 27 games with one start against Lincoln Memorial. He averaged 4.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. Carpenter scored double digits five time. He scored a season-high 14 points twice, once against Mars Hill and the other against Belmont Abbey. In the BAC contest, he hit five-of-six from the field, making four-of-five from three-point range. In 18 minutes of play against Brevard, Carpenter was perfect from the field, going four-for-four with three successful shots from behind the three-point line.
High School: Carpenter is a 6-4 guard who played for head coach Bill Boyette at Terry Sanford High School, where he was a co-captain his senior season. The three-time All-Conference selection averaged 14 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
Terry Sanford compiled a 59-5 overall record during Carpenter’s career, earning a pair of conference and regional titles and two runner-up finishes in the state tournament. He was an All-District selection in his final two seasons. Carpenter was named the MVP of the 2010 East Regional. He was sixth in the county in scoring and second in three-point field goals.
