Biography
2011-12: Braden Jackson has compiled an average round score of 74.9 this year (through 4/17/12). The SAC Scholar-Athlete Award winner for men’s golf finished second in the Food Lion SAC tournament with a 220 (76-70-74). His best regular season performance was a tie for fifth place (two-under-par) at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate in October. Jackson serves as a team captain for the Bulldogs.
2010-11: Jackson averaged 77.6 strokes per round as a junior. On the second day of the Tusculum Fall Classic, he posted a 71 (9/28/10). Jackson had a 73 in the second round of the Anderson (S.C.) Invitational (9/14/10).
2009-10: Seventeen of Jackson’s 20 rounds were in the 70s. He shot a season-low 72 in the Tusculum College Intercollegiate. Jackson’s 147 in the Tusculum Intercollegiate was a season- best total. One of the top student-athletes at Wingate, Jackson won the SAC Scholar-Athlete Award for men’s golf.
2008-09: A steady performer for the Bulldogs in his first year, Jackson was second on the team with a 75.7 scoring average. At the Pine Needles Intercollegiate finished third with rounds of 72 and 75. Recorded 71 twice for his best round of the year; including during the first round of the SAC Tournament.
Personal: Jackson was a two-year captain and three-time MVP of his golf team at North Gaston High School. He was a four-time all-conference selection, while leading the team in scoring all four years. Jackson was the valedictorian of his class; he was a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club. Born December 1, 1989, Braden is the son of Jerry and Desiree Jackson. He is an Accounting major.
