Biography
2011-12: Garett Heffner had a 79.0 strokes per round average in two spring semester events. In the Wingate Pinehurst Challenge, he shot 77-79=156 to tie for 27th place. In the Armstrong Atlantic Invitational, Heffner recorded a 160 (80-80) to tie for 63rd place.
2010-11: Heffner averaged 76.8 strokes per round during his sophomore season. He shot a 71 in the second round of the Rendleman Invitational (3/8/11) and the second round of the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate (4/3/11). Heffner posted a 148 in the Tusculum Fall Classic (76-72). He had a 72 in the final round of the Will Wilson Southeast Preview (10/19/10).
2009-10: Heffner competed in nine tournaments as a true freshman. He shot a season-low 71 in the second round of the Food Lion SAC championship (4/19/10). Heffner tied for third in the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate (73-73=146). He finished with a 76.3 scoring average, tied with Scott Caragher for tops among players who played in 50 percent or more of the team’s rounds. Heffner was one of three Bulldogs who participated in 20 of 20 rounds.
Personal: Garett Heffner had a very successful junior golf career in the state of North Carolina, posting several high finishes in tournaments.
