Biography

2013-14: Caitlin Budnik swam a career-best in the 200 Freestyle with the time of 2:04.61 at the Wingate Fall Frenzy Nov. 22. Opening her senior season at the Queens vs. Wingate meet in Charlotte Nov. 6, she swam 2:04.93 in the 200 Freestyle (WU Swim top time report).

2012-13: Budnik recorded one of the best times of her collegiate career in the 400 Individual Medley during the 15th annual Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimming Championship. She completed her 400 IM race in 4:39.63, the eighth-fastest time in Wingate swimming history. The Bulldogs won the BMC title. For the second year in a row, Budnik won the prestigious Bridget Beth Melvin Award (WU Swim top time report).

2011-12: Budnik was an All-BMC performer in the 200 Butterfly (2:09.50) and the 400 Individual Medley (4:43.77), finishing fourth and seventh, respectively in these events. She was recognized as the inaugural winner of the Bridget Beth Melvin Award (Burn Bright Memorial) at Wingate’s athletic awards ceremony.

2010-11: In her first year as a Bulldog, Budnik received All-Bluegrass Mountain Conference honors in the 400 Medley Relay. Budnik was a versatile performer during her inaugural campaign, as she competed in Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle and Individual Medley events.

High School: Caitlin Budnik earned four varsity letters at Muskego High School for head coach Ed Hallette. An All-American in the 200 Medley Relay, Budnik was an All-Conference swimmer in the 100 Butterfly, the 200 Individual Medley and the 400 Medley Relay. She was a decorated club swimmer for the Southwest Aquatic team. Caitlin is the daughter of Mark and Cindy Budnik.
