Biography

2014-15: Rita Koryukova was chosen by her fellow swimmers to represent the Wingate University swim team as one of the two captains for the 2015-16 season. As a junior, she earned top eight status in both of her backstroke events at the BMC championship meet. She was fifth in the 100 Back (56.37) and sixth in the 200 Back (2:03.32) gain All-Conference status. Koryukova was 14th in her 100 Butterfly (57.46) during the BMC meet. She accompanied fellow teammates in both the 200 and the 400 Medley Relays, leading with the backstroke leg during the BMC event. Koryukova was one of the four Bulldog women to win a National Championship in the 400 Medley Relay (3:40.28) at the NCAA meet. She also swam the 200 Medley and the 200 Free Relay at NCAAs. Individually, Koryukova posted an 11th place finish and personal best in her 100 backstroke (55.62). She earned All-American honors at the 2015 NCAA event.

2013-14: Koryukova swam a career-best 25.05 in the 50 Freestyle at the Wingate Fall Frenzy Nov. 22.

2012-13: Koryukova was named the Wingate University Freshman Female Athlete of the Year after a distinguished first season for the Bulldogs. She was an NCAA All-American in three events (100 Back, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Medley Relay), setting school records in each event. In the BMC championships, she was All-BMC in five events, helping Wingate win the 200 and 400 Medley Relay titles. She had four top 10 all-time finishes in Wingate swimming history with her times in the 100 Freestyle (52.88), 100 Backstroke (55.63), 200 Backstroke (2:03.24) and the 100 Butterfly (58.34).
