Wingate University sophomore goalkeeper Daniel DeGraff (Statesville, N.C.) earned South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer Player of the Week honors for his performance last week.

DeGraff logged 200 shutout minutes in Wingate’s two matches last week, leading the Bulldogs to a 1-0-1 record. He had eight saves in the 1-0 win over Limestone Wednesday, leading the Bulldogs to a key regional victory. DeGraff had four saves to help the Bulldogs salvage a double-overtime 0-0 tie against Tusculum in the regular season finale.

“This is a very well-deserved recognition,” head coach Gary Hamill says. “Daniel has worked hard all year and waited for his opportunity. He has taken the starting role with class and professionalism.” 

DeGraff has started the last four games for the Bulldogs, registering 18 saves and allowing only three goals. He has an .857 save percentage and 0.71 goals against average in 380 minutes of action while notching a pair of shutouts.
