Indianapolis, Ind.----The Wingate University Bulldogs are ranked number 25 in this week’s AVCA top 25 poll. The Bulldogs crack the top 25 for the first time in the 2010 season. Wingate became the first team in SAC history to earn a top 25 ranking in 2009. The ‘Dogs are 28-1 overall, currently riding a 26-match winning streak.

The Bulldogs will be the number one seed in this week’s NCAA Division II Southeast Regional volleyball tournament. Wingate will host the Regionals for the third consecutive year. We are proud and happy to be this team. As we continue to develop our program, getting this type of national notoriety and exposure is a big plus for us.”

The Bulldogs claimed their fifth consecutive Food Lion SAC tournament title over the weekend.
