Wingate offense stays hot as Bulldogs top Limestone 12-6 for sixth straight win

Gaffney, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs won their sixth consecutive game Wednesday, defeating the Saints of Limestone College 12-6 in NCAA Division II baseball action. The Bulldogs have scored double-digit runs in every game during the winning streak, scoring 92 total runs in the six games.

Junior designated hitter Tres Ramirez (Ocala, Fla.) went three-for-four with a triple, four RBI and two runs scored to lead the Wingate offense. Redshirt freshman first baseman Brian Yeung (Raleigh, N.C.) was two-for-four with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. 

Freshman catcher Taylor Honeycutt (Indian Trail, N.C.) added a three-for-five day with a double, RBI and run scored, while sophomores Dodson McPherson (Graham, N.C.) and Logan Isaacs (Raleigh, N.C.) each had two hits, combining to drive in two runs and score three times.

Freshman left-hander Jordan Fuller (Matthews, N.C.) picked up the win in relief as he threw 2 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, improving to 1-0 on the season.
