Evans and Karpowicz collect All-American accolades

NCBWA All-Americans | D2CCA All-Americans

Wingate, N.C.----The NCBWA and D2CCA announced their All-American teams in the past week, with a pair of Bulldogs earning recognition. Jalen Evans is an NCBWA and D2CCA second team All-American, while Ben Karpowicz has collected third team accolades from the D2CCA.

Evans was a first team All-SAC and All-Region honoree in 2026 to go along with a pair of All-American nods. He hit .424 on the season, piling up 87 hits including 19 doubles, a triple and 10 homers. He drove in 54 runs and scored 65 times, while stealing 39 bases in 45 attempts. Evans posted a .530 on-base percentage and .673 slugging percentage, good for a 1.203 OPS. He led the SAC in stolen bases, ranking third in average and on-base percentage, fifth in hits, sixth in runs and total bases, eighth in doubles and slugging percentage, 10th in homers and 11th in RBI. Evans ranked 11th in the nation in stolen bases, 26th in on-base percentage, 29th in average and 30th in hits.

Karpowicz was a first team All-SAC honoree, picking up All-Region accolades from the NCBWA and D2CCA. He had a huge first season at Wingate, hitting .380 with 22 homers and 74 RBI, adding eight doubles and a triple while scoring 56 runs. He compiled an .847 slugging percentage and .505 on-base percentage, good for a 1.352 OPS. Despite missing 10 games during the season, Karpowicz still led the SAC with his 22 homers, ranking second in RBI. He was also the league leader in slugging percentage and OPS, ranking fifth in total bases and ninth in runs scored. He was eighth nationally in homers and 20th in RBI.
