Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs got goals from six different players en route to a 6-0 victory over visiting St. Andrews University in NCAA Division II women’s soccer action Monday night. The Bulldogs win their fifth straight, improving to 6-2 overall on the season. The Knights fall to 1-9 overall.

The Bulldogs got on the board 14:30 into the opening half, when Montgomery took a feed from Murphy, lining one into the corner from just inside the box. Wingate struck again a minute later, when Adams netted her first goal of the year, striking one into the opposite corner. Montgomery and freshman forward
AJ Lightbody (Matthews, N.C.) assisted on the play.
Lightbody set up Murphy’s goal four minutes later, crossing one right in front of the goal for Murphy to head in for her third goal of the year to make the score 3-0. Horan lined one in from 25 yards out, her second goal of the season, to put the ‘Dogs on top by four heading to intermission. Wingate out-shot St. Andrews 21-0 in the opening frame, while taking eight shots on goal and 10 corner kicks.
Holsclaw netted her team-best fourth goal of the year 1:22 into the second half, scoring from just inside the box to make the margin 5-0. Holsclaw set up the game’s final goal, putting a perfect through ball to Forza behind the defense, who scored her third goal of the year two minutes later to account for the final margin.
The Bulldogs controlled the ball the final 40 minutes of the contest, taking only one shot while running out the clock. Wingate held a 24-0 advantage in shots on the night, including a 12-0 edge in shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper

Wingate returns to action Wednesday, hosting South Atlantic Conference foe Newberry College at 7 p.m. St. Andrews hosts Conference Carolinas opponent North Greenville University Thursday at 2 p.m.
