Derek Watts (Winston-Salem, N.C.) had four goals and two assists, leading the Bulldogs to a 16-6 NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse victory over St. Andrews Presbyterian College Tuesday afternoon. Wingate converted three-of-six extra-man opportunities Tuesday.
Wingate evens its 2011 ledger at 6-6 overall. St. Andrews falls to 5-8 overall. The Bulldogs host Deep South Conference foe Mars Hill College Sunday, April 3 at 2 p.m. The SAPC Knights continue their DSC tour Friday, hosting Rollins (Fla.) College at 3:30 p.m.

Bryce Sneed (Apex, N.C.) led the Bulldogs by winning nine-of-11 face-offs. Sneed added two goals to his statistics ledger. The SAPC contest is Sneed’s first multiple-goal game of his career.

Danny Dlugozima (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) collected his sixth victory of the 2011 campaign. The Wingate net minder played 54 minutes, surrendering five goals and posting eight saves. Sophomore goalkeeper
Mason Cook (Hollywood, Md.) played the final six minutes. Cook allowed one goal and recorded three saves.

Kyle Davitt (Shoreview, Minn.) went the distance, allowing 16 goals and recording 20 saves. The Wingate victory avenges an 11-4 triumph by the Knights over the Bulldogs on March 31, 2010 (at Wingate).
